  9. This recipe comes from a contribution from May Merritt to
  10. the Beechwood Congregational  Church Cookbook:

  12. Miracle Meringues
  13.  
  14. 2 egg whites
  15. 1/2 tsp vanilla
  16. 2/3 C sugar
  17. 1 C Rice Krispies
  18. 1 (6 oz) pkg. chocolate bits
  19.  
  20. Beat egg whites until stiff.  
  21. Add vanilla and sugar;
  22. beat until stiff.
  23. Fold in Rice Krispies and chocolate bits.
  24. Drop onto cookie sheet covered with brown paper.
  25. Put into an oven which has been heated at 350 F.
  26. Turn off the oven immediately.
  27. Leave meringues in closed oven overnight.

  29. I haven't ever actually made these but I have sampled
  30. them when May made them!
